BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A 14 hour standoff that happened on Sunday resulted in the arrest of a Baton Rouge woman.
The 42 year old woman is being charged with misdemeanor Illegal Discharge of a Weapon because Police say she fired two shots inside of her home on Ashbourne Avenue yesterday afternoon.
The standoff started shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14 and finally ended early this morning.
"Extremely unusual,” Grant Thudium, a neighbor, said. “In fact, it's a quiet neighbor and I'm not aware of any trouble that we've had. So, it was quite surprising to see the intensity of the activity."
The woman claims she threatened to commit suicide because of several medical issues she's dealing with.
