Baton Rouge (NBC 33) — In Terrebonne Parish, a father and son are in jail tonight after an incident at the I-Hop in Houma where a Terrebonne Parish deputy was working off-duty security detail. Deputies say Charles Grasso, III, 22, tried to grab an off duty deputy’s gun, then bit him in the face. They say, Charles Grasso, Jr., 54, then punched the deputy in the face. He’s expected to be okay.
In Lafayette Parish, there were some scary moments today at Youngsville Middle School. Authorities say a threat was made, so police went to the school to make sure everything was okay. As a precaution, police and school officials put the entire campus on lock-down. No weapons were found, but investigators say they did question a student about the incident.
In East Baton Rouge Parish, all the Sheriff’s deputies are lending their support to the fight against breast cancer this month. When you see deputies on patrol, you'll notice they're all wearing pink ribbons. And that’s not all. Throughout the month, they'll be working with the Komen Baton Rouge affiliate to get educated about the disease.
