BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — UPDATE: The EBR Coroner’s Office has confirmed to NBC33 News that the cause of death has official been listed as an accidental drowning. They say no evidence was found to suspect foul play.
ORIGINAL: An investigation is currently being conducted to determine how a man ended up dead in a swimming pool.
The Baton Rouge Police Department was called to the 7000 block of Victoria Gardens Court on Monday, Oct. 8.
EMS confirms they responded to the scene shortly before noon. However, the unidentified victim, who was found floating in a swimming pool, was pronounced dead by the time of their arrival.
Reports indicate the victim is a 50-year-old male. The EBR Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine an exact cause of death.
The Baton Rouge Police Department’s homicide unit was called to the scene to investigate, which we’re told is standard procedure.
