JENNINGS, LA (NBC33) — The State Fire Marshal is currently investigating a fire that claimed the life of a handicapped man.
Officials say the fire began at roughly 11:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1 at a home on Willis Street in Jennings. There were three people inside the home when the fire started. Two escaped unharmed. However, a handicapped man perished in the flames.
Investigators believe the fire started in a bedroom of the home, but have not yet determined a cause.
The investigation is ongoing at this time. The name of the victim has not yet been released.
