LOUISIANA (NBC33) — The Department of Health and Hospitals said today more cases of West Nile have been reported across the state.
Almost 30 cases have been reported in the last week. That includes one in East Baton Rouge Parish and another in East Feliciana.
They are the neuroinvasive, or the most severe form of West Nile.
This year across the state about 300 people have been infected with West Nile. 11 people have died.
DHH says it's still critical to take precautions against the disease when you're outside.
