BATON ROUGE,LA (NBC33) — NBC33's Losing it in Louisiana final three contestants went head to head in a mega fitness event. It was a test to see just how far they've come, and how strong they really are.
Finalists James Newman Kris Cusanza and James Henry fought through a six part fitness event.
"In a morbid way it was kind of fun," said contestant James Henry. "It was really challenging, but I enjoyed it. "
The contest began with an up hill battle. Run up a ramp collecting cones and finish with a set of 20 situps.
"After it I felt like my chest was burning, and I was just waiting for it," said contestant Kris Cusanza. "I was able to stay in there and just finish strong."
The green team came out on top.
Round two consisted of over head throws with a medicine ball. Score one for the red team.
Next finalists took the competition inside for a round of pushup jump up endurance testers. The green team won again.
Then contestants hit the wall for a wall sit competition and a little dancing.
"The wall sit: I practice all day at it you would think that I have sitting down, but I'm still bad at it," said Henry.
Henry dropped first. The red and orange teams remained standing until finally.both boys bottomed out, and Cusanza was the last woman sitting.
The fifth event was a pull up test that pushed contestants to the point of fatigue. The red team rose up to the challenge.
The final event was bear crawl, step up, jumping jack, dip, and squat challenge.
"if you can get through that you can get through anything," said contestant James Newman.
The green team won.
The red team and the green team tied 3 wins each; so the judges had to make the final call.
In the end Cusanza took the crown thanks to the wall sit challenge where Cusanza came in first Henry came in last.
