Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — The battle against sickle cell anemia got a little help today in the form of a blood drive.
Remington College teamed up with America's Blood Centers and the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America for the blood drive.
The goal was to get more minorities to give blood. One donor had a special reason for giving blood today.
"I actually have a cousin who has sickle cell,” stated donor Latasha Higginbotham. “I've been donating blood since I was 18, and I just feel the need to help other people out "
The blood mobile will be at Remington College until 8:30 p.m.
