Lafayette Parish, La — The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office will host a prescription drug take back day this Saturday September 29, 2012 at the Lafayette Consolidated Government Building located at 705 W University Avenue, (intersection of W University and St. Landry Street) from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
This a partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration nationally with local and state law enforcement agencies so that local residents can reduce the risk of accidental ingestion of expired or wrong prescription drugs. Residents are encouraged to clean out medicine cabinets and bring in expired, unwanted or prescription drugs which were prescribed to a person who is no longer in need of these prescriptions. The drop off site will be a drive through setting with no questions asked, all prescription medication will be properly disposed of through the DEA.
