NBC NATIONAL NEWS — The brand new phone 5 is now available and for many of those looking to trade up comes the need to trade in - to recoup part of the upgrade cost by selling their old models.
If you're going to trade in your old phone, be sure to do some comparisons. For example, Gazelle is offering $212 in cash for the trade of an iPhone 4S with 64 gigs of memory. A service called Nextworth – tell the service the model you want to sell, describe its condition and the wireless provider it works on – offers $250.
Verizon wireless also offers a trade-in service. Their offer? A $250 gift card.
How about Apple? Apple now has a “Recycle Your iPhone” trade-in program. Apple says they'll give a $315 gift card for the aforementioned model.
Another service, UseLL.com works a little differently. They shop your item to other buyers of used mobile phones. They gave an offer for $320 by cash or pay pal.
Market prices do fluctuate with demand, but once you get a price and accept, these outfits will lock it in for you.
