BOSSIER CITY, LA — Bossier City Police have arrested a man after files containing child pornography were found on a computer he had dropped off at a local store for maintenance.
Detectives arrested David Mitcham Conerly, 40, of Bossier City on a warrant charging him with pornography involving juveniles after he turned himself over to police on Monday.
Conerly had taken a laptop computer to the Best Buy Store in the 2600 block of Beene Boulevard earlier this year for maintenance. Store personnel contacted Bossier City Police after noticing that the computer’s hard drive contained files of suspected child pornography.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for Conerly’s computer. A computer forensics investigation was conducted by the Bossier City Marshal’s Office assigned to the Northwest Louisiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. That investigation resulted in detectives securing a warrant for Conerly’s arrest.
After turning himself in, Conerly was booked into the Bossier City Jail and later transferred to the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility. His bond is set at $35,000.
