Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — They just helped determine those tar balls that washed ashore after Isaac were indeed remnants from the 2010 b-p oil, spill, and now, LSU's School of the Coast & Environmental Sciences is celebrating the addition of a Ph.D. program.
The program was approved by the Board of Regents just a few months ago, but already has seven students enrolled.
Officials say the new Ph.D. curriculum will provide students with extended holistic training to meet today's environmental challenges.
