BATON ROUGE, LA — A former employee with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office was arrested on Friday, Sept. 7 for Stalking, Defamation and Improper Telephone Communications.
Ronald M. Gautreaux, 62, of Plaquemine was employed with the Sheriff's Office for the past 11 years working in security at the parish prison.
According to reports, the defendant allegedly called his ex-girlfriend, wrote to her, and showed up at her residence repeatedly during the past year despite her telling him to stop. The victim stated the defendant called her residence daily using vulgar language and making threats. The victim and a witness also stated that Gautreaux defamed her character by making untrue statements concerning illegal activity. He also allegedly showed up at her residence and her job repeatedly.
Gautreaux admitted to accessing the victim's gated residence by following other visitor's through a security gate without the victim's permission.
Gautreaux was terminated prior to being booked into parish prison.
