Cars hit pole causing power outage during rush hour

baton rouge — Traffic came to a halt during rush hour this evening when a vehicle crashed into a pole just off Government Street.

Baton Rouge police say the driver was trying to avoid an oncoming fire truck when he turned on to Steele Blvd. and hit another vehicle. Both vehicles hit a pole knocking out power in the area.

The good news is, no one was hurt and officers decided not to issue tickets to either drivers.
