Livingston Parish (NBC33) — A Major with the Baton Rouge Police Department was arrested Saturday, Sept. 1 in Livingston Parish for allegedly pushing the mother of his child around her kitchen in Denham Springs, repeatedly.
Major Ernest Brewer is charged with Simple Domestic Battery and Improper Telephone Communications.
According to court document the victim, the mother of Brewer’s child, had come to her home in Denham Springs to watch the LSU football game with her son. The two then allegedly got in to a heated argument. During that argument the victim says she was shoved across the kitchen repeatedly by Brewer. The victim claimed she then asked Brewer to leave, he refused, and she later called 911.
The arrest report notes that no one witnessed the alleged battery, nor was there any physical evidence. However, the victim showed officers text messages, allegedly sent from Brewer to her phone after the incident occurred. The text messages contained several expletives.
“…it did not appear as though [the victim] had provoked the messages,” the arrest reported noted.
