In Assumption Parish, there is some good news coming out of Bayou Corne this week. It appears there are no detectable concentrations of natural gas or other chemicals in the atmosphere as a result of that sinkhole and those bubbles we’ve heard so much about lately. That's according to an aerial survey done last week. It was released yesterday by Louisiana Commissioner of Conservation James Welsh and Louisiana DEQ Secretary Peggy Hatch. The Environmental Protection Agency’s “ASPECT” airplane was used to conduct the survey on Saturday.
