NATIONAL NEWS — A conservative movement on Twitter to name Monday, Labor Day, "Empty Chair Day", is growing in popularity.
It's based on Clint Eastwood's speech at the Republican National Convention, in which he used an empty chair to represent an absent President Obama.
The "Empty Chair Day" movement, also known as #Eastwooding, has conservatives around the country placing empty chairs on their lawns.
The unofficial day has lit up Twitter. As of 11:30 am on Monday, #EmptyChairDay was already one of the top trending subjects on the social media site.
It is also gaining speed on Facebook.
