BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Investigators believe an arsonist is to blame for a fire that happened this morning at a vacant home in Baton Rouge.
The Baton Rouge Fire Department was called to the home on Stan Ave. shortly after 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 3. When they arrived they found the structure engulfed in flames.
We’re told investigators believe someone intentionally set the outside of the home on fire. The flames then traveled up the wall an in to the attic, where there was extensive damage.
Fortunately, no one occupied the building, so no one was injured. An estimated $50,000 worth of damage was caused.
