BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A 17-year-old was arrested by BRPD this morning, Wednesday, Aug. 29, and charged with looting.
In the hours before the Hurricane Isaac moved its way across Baton Rouge, Police were responded to a call of a burglary in progress. Officials say the suspect, Kammer Vignes, 17, was found inside of a business located on Cedardale Drive. They also noted that there were signed of forced entry into the building.
Vignes was arrested and charged with one count of Looting. This charge carries a higher penalty than Simple Burglary, which would have been the charge had it not occurred during a state of emergency caused by Hurricane Isaac.
