BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Filling up gas tanks ahead of Isaac proved to be a struggle for many Baton Rouge drivers on Monday.
Some gas stations started running out of gas on Sunday night, while most experienced long lines into Monday evening.
"I try to pull in one, I thought I was so lucky, all the gas was out," said Kenny Nguyen. "So I kind of figured, 'all right, you're going to have to wait in a line no matter what. I've been in line for about an hour."
Some drivers got into arguments as they battled for position after waiting to get to a pump.
"Everybody's in a rush," said Kevin Mozee, "everybody's trying to get to where they're trying to go, so everybody just really needs to be patient and wait until the next person, and stop trying to cut in line, stop trying to take people's gas spots."
But most drivers said the majority of people in line kept their calm.
"I think everybody's courteous," said Dan Hudson. "They try to understand."
