BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Talking with students all across Southern University's campus on Tuesday you kept hearing the same thing
"Actually it's much better," says Southern University student Joshua Reason
They're happy the university has improved the way it's helping students get registered for both their classes and financial aid.
"We relied a whole lot more on our technological infrastructure, using technology to help us do it better make it more convenient for the students," says Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Brandon Dumas.
And students notice the difference
"Last year they had lines hanging out the door, but now it's much easier and much quicker," says Joshua Reason
"You got a lot more people working together to get these lines and get everything in order,” says Southern University student Clinton Progue
So far 5,700 students have registered for classes this semester. Another thousand are expected to join them over the next couple of weeks and many of them are pleased about the direction the school is moving.
"Southern University you're improving," says Progue.
