Governor Bobby Jindal is calling for a new way to rank Louisiana public school performances, one that's easy for people to understand. Right now, the state gives elementary, middle, and high schools yearly performance scores based on testing, attendence, and dropout rates. Those scores provide them with a labels that start at academically unacceptable and go up until they reach five stars.
However, some people find those labels confusing. Instead, Governor Jindal wants the state to give out traditional letter grades to schools. Academically unacceptable would become an "F" on this new scale.
