Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Even though they're back in school, some students say LSU's budget issues are a distraction.
LSU students were back at class bright and early this morning. While they were focused on the task at hand, some we talked with told us they're concerned about the looming budget cuts. They want to know how they'll impact their education at LSU in the short and long term.
Students told us the sooner they get answers, the better they'll be able to focus on their studies.
“I took classes over the summer, and while I was in classes, some of teachers had to be let go,” stated LSU sophomore Nicholas Belson. “Some classes weren't offered that I needed for my major, so that kind of cuts me back as far as graduating on time. I’m not getting into the classes that I need.”
LSU sophomore Leah Targeon agrees, saying, “I feel like I pay enough to where the classes required for my major should be offered.”
