HOUMA, LA — A Terrebonne Parish grand jury has indicted Scott Massey, 35, of Houma, with 16 counts of crimes against children, announced Attorney General Buddy Caldwell.
The indictment charges Massey with two counts of aggravated rape, six counts of molestation of a juvenile under the age of 13, and eight counts of production of child pornography of a child under the age of 13.
Massey was arrested earlier this year by the Attorney General’s High-Tech Crime Unit and is currently being held on a $12 million bond. If convicted of the rape charges, Massey faces a sentence of mandatory life imprisonment at hard labor without the benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence. If convicted of the molestation and pornography counts, Massey would face the possibility of up to 99 years on each of the remaining 14 counts.
The case has been assigned to Judge Randall Bethancourt of the 32nd Judicial District Court.
