BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A Baton Rouge woman is in the hospital with life threatening injuries after she was ejected and pinned under her vehicle after a crash last night.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that the incident occurred on Saturday, Aug. 18 shortly before 10:00 p.m. The crash happened around the 11000 block of Greenwell Springs Road.
When officers arrived on scene they found two vehicles with extensive damage. Then, they realized a woman was pinned underneath one of the vehicles. The Baton Rouge Fire Department was called to help extract the woman from under the vehicle. She was then transported to a local hospital where she is currently listed in critical condition. The driver of that same vehicle was also transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officials have not released any information at this time regarding how the accident occurred, nor have they provided information relative to the condition of the occupant(s) in the other vehicle involved.
The Baton Rouge Police Department’s Traffic Homicide division is currently investigating the case.
