NBC News — Egypt has sealed off its border with the Gaza Strip following days of violence in the Sinai Peninsula. Gaza-based militants are believed to be behind monday's deadly border crossing attack that killed 16 Egyptian guards.
The militants were eventually killed after they attempted to ram their armored car into Israel's side of the border. The border closure has sent Gazans scrambling for basic supplies. The Egyptian crossings are the only way material is able to travel into the sealed off Gaza Strip.
