SHREVEPORT, LA — A Shreveport fugitive who had been wanted for two years literally ran to jail Tuesday.
Shreveport police spotted Bobby Parks, 40, and tried to take him into custody on warrants issued by Caddo Parish. One warrant dated back to August 2010.
Parks fled from authorities in a vehicle and led law enforcement on a chase that ended at the Caddo Correctional Center. Once he made into the parking lot, he abandond his vehicle and ran through the main lobby into an administrative area reserved for deputies. He was taken into custody by Caddo Deputy Sonja Nunnery and SPD officers.
The fugitive was taken back to the Shreveport City Jail where he was booked for flight and as a fugitive on the warrants. He is expected to be taken back to CCC later today.
Parks faces three theft charges on the two warrants after not paying several area businesses for auto repair services. The total loss from the thefts is $8,748.
He will likely face two more theft charges for purchasing $2,600 worth of tires with a check from a closed account and for failing to provide tires to a person who paid him $340.
