NBC News — The Chinese Olympic badminton team has apologized on national television for their disqualification following controversy over throwing a match at the London games. The team's coach and the two players involved in the match appeared on Chinese state television's noon newscast wednesday. All apologized to their Chinese fans and to the people attending the match.
One of the players has already announced that she is leaving the sport for good. Two other national teams, South Korea and Indonesia, were also found guilty of throwing a match and have been disqualified as well. The teams were trying to secure a better seeding in the tournament by losing.
