BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Today was a big day for dozens of teachers at Baton Rouge Magnet. They had an orientation, then got the keys to the new classrooms.
Baton Rouge Magnet has moved back to its original spot from Lee to Government Street. The school has been renovated and upgraded over the past two years.
Teachers we spoke with today said they're glad to be back home - and have the best facilities to teach your children.
“I feel like I‘m better able to be at the top of my game,” Bridgette Fortenberry, English teacher, said. “I have the resources available. My students are in a facility that makes them want to learn and I finally feel like we're in the Hollywood building that I always see in movies. We're actually in a school that's worthy of the students I teach every day.
School starts in East Baton Rouge Parish on August 8.
