NEW ORLEANS, LA (WDSU) — After an altercation between a bartender at the Old Absinthe House and actor Cuba Gooding Jr. led to an arrest warrant on a misdemeanor charge, the bartender has dropped the charge.
Management at the Old Absinthe House issued a statement on Wednesday about the incident, saying it hopes that the matter will come to an end.
"We welcome all customers at our establishment. We will continue to do everything in our power to ensure that employees and patrons continue to enjoy the wonderful experiences we have proudly provided for more than 100 years in our Historic French Quarter," the statement read.
Gooding met with New Orleans police on Wednesday morning after the warrant was issued on the misdemeanor charge.
The feud began when, police said, Gooding became agitated when patrons began taking pictures of him.
The altercation climaxed when the bartender asked Gooding to leave, and he allegedly shoved the bartender against the wall.
Gooding is currently filming "The Butler" in New Orleans with Oprah Winfrey.
