Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Southern University's track and field coach Brian Johnson has a much different view of the Summer Olympics this time around after competing in Bejing in 2008.
The former U.S. Olympian long jumper says it's tough to even watch the games after what he called a “sub-par performance” in his Olympic debut.
Johnson, however, has very little to show from his experience on his time at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Months following the games, Johnson's house was broken into and his memorabilia from the historic event are gone. Today, his memories rest only in his mind.
Johnson did not make it to London this time around, but he may have a chance to relive those moments as he plans a return to the world stage.
