NBC News — A massive power outage in India has left some 300 million people in the dark. The lights went out around two in the morning local time, much of northern India is without power including the capital, New Delhi.
It took officials several hours just to restore power to essential services such as hospitals, airports and rail lines. It's unclear what caused the outage and officials still have no idea when all of the lights will be back on. The blackout is one of the worst in India in more than a decade.
