Burbank, CA (KTLA) — Police are investigating the death of a 16-year-old boxer after he suffered a blow to the head while working out at a gym in Burbank.
It happened around 6 p.m. Thursday night at Pullmans Gym in the 4300 block of West Magnolia Boulevard.
According to Burbank police, the teen was doing some sparring in the boxing ring when he took a blow to the face.
He complained of pain and paramedics were called to the gym.
The boy died at the hospital about an hour later. His name has not been released.
Police are conducting a death investigation, and the coroner will likely perform an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
On its website, Pullmans Gym says it offers boxing classes to adults and children, as well as some private instruction.
