NEW INVESTIGATION: The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating the possible abduction and rape  of a 22 year old woman. Police say the incident happened this morning at the Bone and Joint clinic located on Hennessey near Essen Lane. The suspect reportedly abducted the woman at gun point from that parking lot, then drove her to Iberville parish where he allegedly raped her. He then drove the woman back to Baton Rouge where he dropped her at the McDonalds near campus. If you know anything about this incident call Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP (7867). UPDATE: Investigators are seeking a motive  behind yesterday’s high speed chase. The suspect took his own life after crashing his vehicle, and investigators want to know why. LSU PD say they should have more information sometime next week.
COURT: Brandon Scott Lavergne pleaded “not guilty”  in a Lafayette court room today. He’s the man who’s accused of killing Mickey Shunick and Lisa Pate. A trial date could be decided after October 9, 2012.
YOUR COMMUNITY: Volunteers teamed up today to help one local elementary school gain a makeover for its basketball court. It happened at Howell Park Elementary here in Baton Rouge.
WEATHER: This weekend will be split fifty-fifty. Tomorrow calls for another round of scattered storms during the afternoon. Sunday will be mainly dry with a stray storm possible. Highs will be in the mid 90s with feel-like temperatures in triple digits.
