BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — UPDATE: Devon Livous was located by the US Marshals Office in the 3000 block of Congress earlier today. Livous was taken into custody and will be booked into EBRSO Parish Prison charged with First-Degree Murder and Attempted First-Degree Murder.
UPDATE: A suspect has been identified in this investigation. Devon Livous, 28 is wanted for the shooting death of Raolatu Alowonle.
Livous is wanted for First-Degree Murder and Attempted First-Degree Murder.
ORIGINAL: The female victim of a shooting resulting from a domestic dispute died as a result of her injury.
Raolatu Alowonle, 28, died after being shot in the abdomen on Wednesday, July 25. She was walking on the sidewalk on Ryder Street shortly before 5:00 p.m. when the suspect exited a vehicle and fired multiple shots at her.
An 11 year old boy was also shot during the incident. He sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. He is expected to recover.
The suspect’s vehicle is described as a two door newer model Camero. The suspect is a black male, 6’1” tall, 220 lbs.
So far this year the EBR Coroners office has listed homicide as the official cause of death for 66 cases. At this same time last year there were a total of 49 cases listed as homicide. In 2011 there were a total of 90 homicides in EBR Parish for the entire year.
