BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Veteran Baton Rouge broadcaster and former Miss Louisiana USA Jeanne Burns is returning to the Baton Rouge television station where her career started two decades ago – WVLA NBC33, the NBC affiliate in Baton Rouge, LA.
“I’m so excited to join NBC33 News,” explained Jeanne Burns. “I really like their philosophy of connecting with real people in the Baton Rouge area and showing how news headlines will impact our neighbors in their daily lives."
Jeanne Burns began her broadcasting career at WVLA NBC33 in the mid 1990’s. In her first stint at WVLA NBC33, Jeanne anchored morning news breaks during NBC’s Today Show.
For the past year, Jeanne Burns has focused on her family. She had the full-time job of taking care of her children. In her new role at WVLA NBC33, Burns will serve as the NBC affiliate’s primary news anchor on NBC33 News at 5:00, NBC33 News at 6:30, and NBC33 News at 10:00 each weeknight.
NBC33 News Director David D’Aquin says, “I’ve admired Jeanne and her work for years. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to work with her. And I know Baton Rouge will be happy to see her back on the air.”
Jeanne’s first day on the air with WVLA NBC33 is Friday, July 27, 2012.
