BATON ROUGE,LA (NBC33) — Six people fighting to drop the pounds joined together with their trainers to perform in the 2012 Losing It games.
Meet the burning biceps: James Newman Anita Katzman Joey Juneau and Justin Kirk.
Turning heads in teal are the phi slimma jamma team: with James Henry and Erik Duncan and Carole walker.
Last but not least are the black mambas: Lake Johnson Carlos Rachel Kris Cusanza and Rebekah Worrell.
Event one was the inchworm crab walk challenge. The contestants scurried across the floor in this group relay. Cusanza crossed the finish line first giving the black mambas a victory to kick off the games.
"I think our team did great we all did really really well,” said Bally Total Fitness Trainer Lake Johnson.
Next came tug-o-war. The duo of Justin Kirk and James Newman moved a mighty mountain or at least the two other teams for the win.
"Just team work kept shuffling our feet kept moving," said contestant James Newman.
Then it was time for a wheel barrel race with a twist. When contestants crossed the room they had to fireman carry their partner back to the starting line. The teal team tore up the course coming in first.
All of a sudden the three teams were tied, but there was one event that would level the playing field the wall sit.
Contestant Anita Katzman and trainer Lake Johnson battled for several minutes to see who would drop first.
In the end it was Johnson who hit the ground.
"The wall sit man that was fun,” said Johnson. “I don't want to do that again. I'm going to need to stretch a lot I felt like I'm not going to feel good tomorrow. "
"I have to say hands down Anita Katzman holding her wall sit for what ten minutes which is fantastic," said trainer Erik Duncan.
Going in to the final three events here's how the score stands. The red team is in first with 2 wins. The black and teal teams tied for second with one win.
