LAKE CHARLES, LA (NBC33) — A recent arrest in Lake Charles proves the saying, "A bored kid is a dangerous kid."
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that a 13 year old girl was arrested after she admitted to calling in a fake bomb threat at a Dollar General Store in Lake Charles.
Officials say the girl made the call at roughly 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 23. We’re told the teen placed the threatening call to an employee, who then called 911. Investigators cleared the scene and searched the store, but no bomb was found. Investigators were able to track down the teen based on phone records.
Once located the teen admitted that she placed the call and said that she did it because she was “bored.”
The teen was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center. She’s been charged with Communication of a False Bomb Threat.
