BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The History Channel's popular show ‘Swamp People’ is looking for a few good gator hunters.
The show’s casting directors hosted an open casting call in Baton Rouge Sunday. They are looking for experienced hunters with at least 50 tags liscenced to hunt in Louisiana or Texas.
Casting directors told NBC33 they are looking for people whose personality pops that would make Louisiana proud.
Kenney Patureau and his son Ezra came to tryouts, because they say they've got what it takes to be gator hunting stars.
"First of all we catch good gators,” said Patureau. “They always get good action. I think it's a good thing showing that I'm trying to bring in the next generation teaching him the ropes."
"I want people who are going to talk about that great character or the show,” said casting director Lyle Dohl.
“It's more than just water cooler talk. It's about making a statement and be proud about a subculture, a really important subculture."
