SHREVEPORT, LA (KMSS) — A Shreveport man was hospitalized over the weekend after a woman allegedly beat him up with a shovel.
Dispatchers received a call around 6:03 p.m. Friday, on a man who had been beaten at a house in the 2800 block of Spruce Street. When they arrived, officers found Robert Jackson, 56, suffering from wounds to his head and face. Jackson was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Detectives later discovered a woman, identified as Theresa Ealy, 47, had apparently attacked Jackson in his house on Spruce Street and hit him over the head with a shovel. Authorities found Ealy at a house in the 3000 block of Catherine Street and took her into custody without incident.
Following interviews with investigators, Ealy, of Shreveport, was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of aggravated second degree battery.
Officials did not say why Ealy decided to attack Jackson.
