NBC NATIONAL NEWS — Another round of storms and rain hit the Houston area today, leaving behind flooding and flood watches across multiple counties.
Some counties in the area have seen as much as ten to twelve inches of rain in the last 24 hours.
Rainfall has caused several creeks and bayous to swell, prompting the issue of a number of flood watches and warnings.
Volunteer firefighters in one town rescued two women who had climbed up a tree to get away from rising floodwaters.
This is the sixth day in a row that heavy rains have fallen on the region.
Meteorologists say more rain is coming. The Houston area has a 40 to 50 percent chance of rain through early next week.
