NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A South Carolina funeral home is adding offering an unusual addition to those in mourning or others who want to stop by.
Robinson Funeral Home in Easley is in the process of building a coffee shop to be attached to the funeral home on South First Street.
When it's finished, the Coffee Corner will be available for friends and family members who have lost a loved one.
The funeral owner says the shop will serve Starbucks coffee and food items.
"If a family is experiencing a loss, there's nothing like food or coffee to help comfort them," said owner Chris Robinson.
"You often hear about the Starbucks experience. It's not just a cup of coffee, it's an experience. And we wanted to continue to offer coffee to our families but we wanted to do it in the best way possible, just like we try to serve their families," Robinson said.
The Coffee Corner will also be open to the general public.
Starbucks employees will come to the funeral home at the end of this month to train employees, and the Coffee Corner will open shortly after that.
The Coffee Corner will also have a fireplace, TV and WI-FI.
