TERREBONNE PARISH, LA — The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a Montegut man, Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said.
TPSO received a 911 call Thursday at 12:07 p.m. in reference to an Entergy employee who died suddenly while working to service a newly constructed residence with electricity. The residence was located at 22 Carrington Circle in Southland Woods subdivision in west Houma. Upon the arrival of deputies, other Entergy employees on site indicated that Roland Lafont III, 25 of Montegut, was working on an outside electrical box when he suddenly collapsed. Medical personnel arrived on scene and transported Lafont to Terrebonne General Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
An autopsy to determine the cause of death is expected to occur this evening by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner's Office. The cause of death is unknown at this time.
