Yesterday NBC33 News told you about two scam artists who were arrested in Baton Rouge for real estate fraud. They finagled five thousand dollars from an eager prospective home buyer. Fortunately, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s deputies caught these would-be con artists. Not every case has such a happy ending.
Tonight we will tell you how to avoid getting caught up in a real estate scam. Foreclosure rates in Baton Rouge are higher than they’ve been in fifteen years, so those looking to buy homes are not the only people at risk. Home owners could be out more than money – they could lose their home.
Below are a few organizations you can check with if you feel like a deal is too good to be true.
