NBC NATIONAL NEWS — Both candidates to the presidency have ramped up their fundraising endeavors.
President Obama and the Democratic National Committee combined to raise $71 million in June.
That total represents Team Obama's best monthly haul, topping the team’s May total by $11 million.
Mitt Romney's campaign combined with the Republican National Committee to raise over $105 million last month.
The campaign says Romney and the Republican Committee now have about $160 million in cash on hand.
Over $22 million dollars for the Romney effort in June was raised in small donations of $250 or less.
It's not known how much the Obama campaign effort, minus the Democratic Party money, raised compared with the Romney campaign total minus Republican Party money. However, when the money raised by the national parties are added, the June haul pulled in by the Romney forces surpasses the President's effort.
