Louisiana (NBC33) — State officials are moving with their plan to shut down two prisons across the state.
The Forcht-Wade Correctional Center in Caddo Parish shut down just a few days ago, which was the home of a popular addiction treatment program.
Later this month, the J. Levy Dabadie Correctional Center in Pineville will close their doors. Officials say more than 100 people will lose their jobs.
The state corrections secretary said the closures are happening to save the state money.
