BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The cat rescue operation Project Purr is celebrating the Fourth of July with special “Feline Independence Day” adoption events.
This time of year is super important when it comes to finding homes for furry strays in our area. That’s because we’re right in the middle of “kitten season.” With an influx of new kittens, the shelter organization needs to adopt out as many cats as possible.
The first adoption event will be held Wednesday, July 4 at the Mall of Louisiana. The Project Purr kiosk is located upstairs between Sears and Dillards. That will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Additionally, they will have adoption events at the same location on Thursday and Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Over the weekend the adoption events will continue at the PetSmart located on Millerville. On Friday the event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Saturday from noon to 8:00 p.m. and then finally on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Adoption events will also take place at the same times at the Mall of Louisiana over the weekend.
