EUNICE, LA (NBC33) — Two men with several prior arrests will make their way back to court for felony theft charges as well as parole violations.
On June 18, officers with the Eunice Police Department responded to a residence on Juanita Street in reference to a stolen generator valued at $800.00. A report was filed and officers conducted an investigation.
According to officials, during the investigation officers obtained information on two suspects and a vehicle description which matched a vehicle driven by Matthew Ware.
The suspects were then located and questioned separately. Each suspect implicated the other and admitted to their part of the crime. Both suspects provided details on the entire incident and they were then arrested.
Dustin Thompson, 20, of Eunice was arrested on June 23 and Matthew Ware, 19, was arrested on June 28. Both were charged with felony theft.
Detectives are still trying to locate the generator which has been passed around and sold to several different people who are cooperating with police.
