BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A Baton Rouge husband and wife team are in Florida tonight helping the victims of what was tropical storm Debby.
Parts of Florida saw two feet of rain from the storm. Flooding is still a problem and could continue for weeks.
Clay and Cathy Smiley will work to feed people whose homes are now underwater.
We had a chance to speak with them before they left earlier today.
“It’s good to go in different areas,” Clay Smilie, said. “Because sometimes they do things a little differently or maybe better. More efficiently. So we can bring that back here locally and try to corporate that in how we do things here
The Smiley’s, along with several Baton Rouge volunteers, will be in Florida for at least a week. They’re working with the American Red Cross to help the victims.
