HAMMOND, LA (NBC33) — Three men are behind bars for allegedly kicking down a door to a home that they were attempting to rob.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that Gerald Varnado, 24, Sullivan Lamar Varnado, 21, and Ladarrin Walker, 24, all from Hammond, were taken into custody on Wednesday, June 27, on Burglary charges.
Reports indicate that the three men arrived at a home on Stafford Rd. at approximately 10:00 a.m. and began knocking loudly on the front door. The homeowner, while attempting to make his way to the door, then observed one of the subjects later identified as Walker, walk into his residence after kicking the door open. When the subjects saw the homeowner, they fled in a white Mazda in an unknown direction.
Deputies soon located the suspect vehicle on Randall Road and detained the subjects pending investigation. The subjects fit the description of the unknown males who attempted to commit the reported burglary.
Subsequent to the investigation, all 3 subjects were taken into custody and charged.
