BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A man has been arrested for a shooting that resulted in the death of a 21 year old man. The incident happened on June 5, 2012.
Jonathan West, 21, of Baton Rouge was arrested by the Baton Rouge Police Department for the murder of Telly Heard, 21. West was booked and charged with Second-Degree Murder.
“Because of the community – they’re a vital part to us in solving these crimes – along with police investigative work,” Cpl. L’Jean McKneely, Baton Rouge Police Department, explained.
The shooting happened just before 1:00 p.m. on South 10th Street, which is located less than a mile away from Baton Rouge Police headquarters. Heard was the second victim of a violent crime [1] in his family. Two years prior Heard’s older brother was also shot and killed in roughly the same area of town.
